L’Harmattan est l’un des vents mythiques de l’ouest africain. Dans la Réserve de Biosphère de la Pendjari, le vent sec et froid de l’harmattan souffle de novembre à mars avec un pic en janvier. Il développe un épais brouillard persistant et accélère l’assèchement des mares et autres points d’eaux.
